So, Vikings ranged in height from 5’1” to 6’5.
The average height of a Viking was about 5’7” tall. This is based on the skeletal remains of more than 400 Viking men unearthed from graves in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
But height depended on a number of factors during the Viking Age, including nutrition and childhood diseases. So, some Vikings may have been taller or shorter than average.
There are also accounts from Arab and Persian scholars who traveled to Norse lands during the Viking Age. They described the Vikings as “tall and fair-haired with long beards.”
